I design and make jewellery in my workshop in Surrey.
A few years ago I was wandering around an antiques market in Arundel when I came across a set of emerald green, glass buttons. They still were neatly sewn on to their original card and looked 1930's with a curly art deco design pressed into them. I bought them not knowing what I was going to do with them. A couple of years later whilst at a music festival I found some more, on a vintage stall so I bought them. It wasn't until a couple of years after that I found them in my sewing box and decided to set them as if they were precious stones. I like the fact that they have had a real history and can now begin another chapter.
These were some of the first button pieces I made. They can be made to order again as long as as I have buttons.
This necklace features a glass moth shaped button, as well as a moonstone. Unfortunately, I have not managed to find another one of these buttons, I think they're quite rare. I will keep looking though...
These are made with some of my favourite buttons. I love their colour and tiny size.
